A lighter layout for phones

  • Phones now have a compact account header and bottom navigation for World, Menu, Inventory, Activity, and Chat. Desktop layouts keep their existing appearance.
  • The menu and Current Activity panel open as sheets, so you can switch skills or check progress without scrolling past the game. A small activity strip keeps your current task within reach.
  • Made skill banners and cards more compact, enlarged touch controls, improved narrow-screen inventory and combat controls, and positioned chat above the bottom navigation.
  • Added keyboard and focus handling for the mobile panels, and restored the full desktop layout when resizing back to a larger screen.

Manual eating, combat training progress, and damage rolls

  • Added a separate food selector and Eat button during combat. Click Eat to use one serving on your next combat turn instead of attacking, independently of auto-eat. Monsters can still retaliate.
  • The Current Activity sidebar now shows the skill being trained and its level during combat. Skill progress follows Melee, Ranged, Magic, or Defence, even while viewing another page.
  • Player attacks now roll accuracy before damage. Misses show 0 damage; successful hits roll from 1 to the maximum with a bias toward higher hits. With a max hit of 100, the chance to hit 1 is 0.5% and the chance to hit 100 is 3%.

Reliability and performance improvements

  • Reduced repeated recipe work while starting or updating processing activities, keeping existing recipes and bonuses intact.
  • Equipment, combat, and customization previews now check only the gear needed for your character when refreshing equipment models.
  • Improved handling of invalid sign-in requests and tightened public-file access in the development server.
  • Refreshed game and hosting documentation to reflect the current features and AWS setup.

Fire tending, wood filters, and crafting stock

  • The currently lit bonfire or shrine now has its own section above the other Firesetting options. Tend fire automatically adds the selected batch of matching kindling while keeping your current activity running.
  • The top-bar boost chest now includes your lit fire, its bonuses, the kindling fueling it, and the remaining fuel time. Expired or extinguished fire boosts disappear automatically.
  • Added a wood-type filter alongside the Fletching category buttons. Crossbows are grouped by the logs used to make them. Make kindling selects the wood used by your currently lit fire.
  • The Current Activity panel now shows how many of the item being made are in your inventory for Blacksmithing, Fletching, and Cooking, alongside the remaining ingredients. Counts follow crafting progress and inventory changes.

A changelog for every adventure

  • Added a public Changelog page with a link in the game footer. It opens in a separate tab so you can keep your game screen open.
  • Collected all 38 earlier update notes in plain English. New updates appear first by date; earlier notes without recorded release dates have their own section.
  • Future game updates will be added to this journal as they are made.

Earlier updates — dates not recorded

38 updates

These updates were added before dated release notes were kept. They are listed from newest to oldest.

Updated upload packages and checks

  • Improved how game updates are packaged and checked, including support for the move to the new hosting setup. Live account records and private settings stay separate from update downloads.
  • The equipment and Uniques update passed 199 automated checks, plus desktop and mobile browser checks for the new equipment and crafting screens.

Blacksmithing Uniques category

  • Added a Uniques tab containing the Ember Sword and the existing bone tool, currently named Bone Woodcutting Axe. These recipes appear exclusively in that category. Existing bone tools and saved crafting progress remain intact.

Craftable Ember Sword

  • Added a unique, one-handed sword with its own model and icon. Crafting requires Blacksmithing 75, 100 Ember scales, and 20 Emberite bars.
  • Equipping requires Melee 75. The sword provides +55 accuracy, +60 melee power, and a 2.2-second attack interval.

Golem Pocketwatch special effect

  • While equipped, the Pocketwatch gives a 10% chance of making a second strike during one attack. Each strike can hit or miss independently, while a surviving monster retaliates once.

Seven additional monster equipment drops

  • Added level-appropriate equipment with custom 3D models and pixel icons. Each drop is rolled independently.
  • Quarry Goblin: Quarry buckler, 3% chance. Ironwood Wolf: Wolf-fang necklace, 3% chance. Thornback Spider: Thornsilk boots, 3% chance.
  • Woodland Bandit: Bandit cape, 3% chance. Ashen Skeleton: Ashen crown, 2% chance. Obsidian Golem: Golem Pocketwatch, 2% chance. Ember Drake: Drakeheart shield, 1% chance.

Wizard equipment drops

  • Added matching wizard clothing and a staff, each with its own equipment model and icon. Independent drop chances are 5% for the Wizard hat, 4% for Wizard robes, 4% for the Wizard skirt, and 1% for the Wizard staff.
  • The clothing provides light protection and extra magic power. The staff requires Magic 5, gives +6 accuracy and +7 magic power, and attacks every 1.8 seconds. It is faster and stronger than the shop wand.

Wizard Apprentice monster

  • Added a level-eight Wizard Apprentice to Mossmere Meadow, including a custom 3D enemy model and pixel artwork.

Safe escape on defeat

  • Defeat stops combat without losing items or gold. Players see: “As luck would have it... you JUST made it away safely”.
  • Selecting “Click here to continue” returns the player to the World Map.

Offline combat progress

  • Combat can progress for up to eight hours while the player is away. Returning players receive their saved combat progress without repeated requests awarding duplicate rewards.

Idle combat balancing

  • Health carries between victories. Added a three-second respawn delay and preserved weapon cooldowns across restarts.
  • Players can select food to eat automatically at 50% health. Eating consumes a turn and allows the monster to retaliate.

Automatic idle combat

  • Combat now attacks automatically and repeatedly fights the selected monster until the player flees or is defeated. Changing screens or refreshing no longer resets the run.

Active boost display

  • Added a pixel-art buff box near the account controls. Its dropdown shows active boosts, their remaining time, and the objectives that awarded them.

Personal rewards for community participation

  • Players who contribute at least 5% of an objective’s total work receive a related skill speed boost: 15% faster gathering or processing for 24 hours. Existing shared experience bonuses remain.

Gathering session totals

  • Gathering activities now show how many resources the player has collected during the current session and how many they currently own.

Resource refill shortcuts

  • When crafting runs out of supplies, the activity panel offers buttons leading back to the relevant skill, such as Woodcutting, Mining, Fishing, Blacksmithing, or Combat.

Crafting supply tracking

  • Processing activities now show remaining ingredients and how many more items those supplies can produce.

Buy Me a Coffee button

  • Added a creator support link beneath Leaderboards. The finished button says “Buy me a coffee?”, uses a yellow background, and includes a custom pixel-art travel cup.

Global chat emojis

  • Added an emoji picker with several categories so players can include emojis in chat messages.

Improved Fletching filters

  • Replaced the dropdown with category buttons for All, Bows, Crossbows, and Kindling.

Improved Blacksmithing filters

  • Added an All tab as the default Blacksmithing view, with metal filtering alongside the existing equipment categories. Unique recipes were later moved into their own category.

Cleaner My Emberwild customization

  • Appearance controls stay hidden until players select “Customize my Emberwild.” Changed the introductory text to “Edit your Emberwild.”

Weekly generated frontier regions

  • Added a new shared frontier each week after the required world progression unlock. Weekly regions expire and reset every Monday at midnight, Toronto time. The established realm remains permanent.

Community objective popups

  • Objective details now open in a popup, keeping assignment controls within reach without scrolling down the page.

Immediate objective assignment

  • Assigning a character to a community objective now takes effect immediately and can interrupt combat.

Clearer project availability

  • Completed map markers are green, available or progressing markers are yellow, and locked markers are black. Unavailable projects are greyed out in the project list.

Larger, interactive World Map

  • Expanded the map to full width. Players can drag to explore and scroll to zoom.

Shared world development

  • Completed projects improve the map, unlock further development, and provide shared benefits. Recurring monster invasions give players ongoing threats to defend against.

Contribution-based rewards

  • Everyone who contributes receives a proportional share of an objective’s completion rewards, including players who switch objectives before it finishes.

Shared community objectives

  • Players can assign their characters to server-wide projects. Assigned characters contribute work instead of collecting personal resources from that activity.

World Map landing screen

  • Players now enter the game through a shared World Map showing settlements, wilderness locations, and community projects.

New skill banner artwork

  • Added original, code-drawn pixel-art scenes for Mining, Woodcutting, Fishing, Blacksmithing, Cooking, and Fletching. The blacksmithing banner uses a warm, enclosed forge setting.

Clearer equipment bonuses

  • Equipment bonuses now hide values that provide no benefit or penalty, such as zero bonuses and normal speed. Fixed multiplier symbols appearing as question marks.

Updated email delivery

  • Updated secure outgoing email delivery for account verification links and security codes.

Email security codes

  • Accounts with a verified email require a six-digit code when signing in from an unfamiliar browser or changing their password.

Optional account email verification

  • Players can create an account without an email address, then add one later by clicking a verification link. The address is attached to the account only after verification.

In-game administration

  • Added in-game player management and banning for the administrator. Banned players no longer appear on public leaderboards.

Player removal tools

  • Added a way for administrators to preview and remove a player’s account and related records while keeping the game online.

Skill tool bonuses

  • The fishing rod, blacksmithing hammer, cooking pan, and fletching knife now make their matching skills work 20% faster while equipped.
